Parents

Scouts are expected to pack their own kit and be able to carry what they pack; the following is a guide list which will change camp to camp, if there are any additional items needs you will be informed of this, before the camp.

  • Complete uniform including Record Book
  • Pens/pencils and paper
  • Sweatshirts/Sweaters
  • T-Shirts
  • long trousers
  • pairs of shorts
  • appropriate amount of underclothes and socks
  • towels
  • hike boots/strong shoes
  • pair trainers
  • waterproofs
  • pair pyjamas
  • hat
  • roll mat
  • sleeping bag
  • bag/rucksack
  • groundsheet
  • tea towels x2
  • coat hangers with bar for trousers
  • hankies
  • personal washing requirements
  • torch with spare batteries
  • Day rucksack/bag              
  • small games/book
  • dirty washing bag (polythene with closure clip/mechanism)
  • sun cream (at least factor 16) (any less is ineffective)
  • watch

Pocket knives may be taken to camp, unless specified otherwise but any misuse will lead to their removal for return to a parent/guardian at the end of the camp, with an explanation regarding its removal.

Pocket money, as required there will be a suggested amount.  If a bank is running monies will be collected before arrival.  Any money, not deposited in the bank, that goes missing will cause the Leaders to say “Oh!  Dear me!”

Please do not bring a watch that is valuable or easily damaged.  Cameras are also allowed, but no responsibility can be accepted by the Leaders, the Troop, the Group or any part of the Scout Association for these or any other personal belongings.  Please check your home insurance cover.

DO NOT BRING A RADIO, WALKMAN, ANY DEVICE ABLE TO PLAY MUSIC, SHEATH KNIVES, ELECTRONIC GAMES, MOBILE PHONES, PAGERS, MATCHES/LIGHTERS, SMUTTY BOOKS (“VIZ” OR WORSE), ALCOHOL, CIGARETTES, SHELL SUIT TYPE CLOTHING (THE MATERIAL IS FLAMABLE), ANYTHING ELSE THAT THE AGE OF THE SCOUT WILL NOT ALLOW, IS ILLEGAL, THAT COULD CAUSE DANGER TO THE SCOUT OR OTHERS OR BE OFFENSIVE.
